Here's the Man of the hour at our house. This Sunday (Father's Day 2009) He''ll be ordained to the office of priest in the Aaronic priesthood. Yay! He is overjoyed and has been spiritually moved about the whole growing process he's going through. After setting up the ordination for Sunday, I realized that his parents are out of state and mentioned it to him and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "It's not really something they are interested in and I am not going to wait til they get back from Washington." Wow! What a powerful statement! He will have his bro Travis there in the circle and extended family supporting him still, and I know for a fact that his (late) Grandma Dagsen is extremely pleased with him.

I am amazed to see the transformation over the last 10 years, and am pretty sure there will be a huge transformation in him and our home as the year progresses. I am pleased with him.

Anyone wishing to come and able to come let me know and I can give you stats. I will warn you though. A baptism will follow shortly. Jarod has been waiting for his dad to get the priesthood so he can baptise him. Details to come on that as well.

Yay!!!

These bison were really close. They were even closer than these pictures depict. I got a call so couldn't use my camera phone when the bison were crossing the road within about 7 feet in front of my van. Awesome!!!

We went on an adventure yesterday while Preston was at work. So who took the picture? I don't know, just some very kind lady who was trekking the trail right behind us. As you can tell, I have Shiryauna, but didn't even think to bring the baby backpack. Now I know for next time. This is up on Buffalo Point, for anyone wondering. The boys were loving the hike, so we will definitely be going more often!

William is saying I love you. Now I feel warm and fuzzy inside...
Elijah really likes this hat. It was in our Tour yardsale we held, but never sold, so here he is playing with it. It actually was my dad's hat, but I'm not sure of the history behind it.

Jarod, William and I had our faces painted. William got the same as Jarod, but a blue "dragon." Mine was nothing so fancy, but was "Tim," the person that Team Grover rode in memory of.

I have about a million pictures of her in her blessing dress. For some reason I can't decide on just one. This one is just cute.

Tour de Cure

We went to the 2009 ADA Tour de Cure for diabetes yesterday and waited for family members to complete the ride. It was amazing to see faces of people who were finishing the ride. There was a huge sense of not only accomplishment, but meaning for accomplishment. There were people of many ages riding different length courses. Boys and Girls about 10 years old were riding through the finish line and somehow they even knew the importance of what they were doing. One boy in particular had crossed the finish line and was smiling from ear to ear and saying "Yes! I did it!" as he crossed. There were Red Riders there who are riders who already have been diagnosed with diabetes. There were older generation Red Riders, some that were middle aged, and some that were probably just coming into adulthood.
All in all, it was a great ride for many and many accomplished goals they had set out to accomplish.
I challenge you to set goals, and accomplish them, for whatever reason you need or want to set those goals, set them, and make an effort daily to accomplish them. The reward of accomplishing it far outweigh the pangs of determination that it takes to get it accomplished.
That's all for today.
Happy Flag Day everyone!
