Happy Fourth of July!!!

Today is the day where we celebrate. What is it we celebrate? We all know that it is to celebrate the Nation's Independence gained by the common farmers, blacksmiths, horsemen, and even clergymen by going to war against King George's militia and finally winning and declaring Independence in 1776. What a feat!
The typical American's celebration includes a parade, barbeque, fireworks and time spent with someone they care about. But every day we do things that represent our Independence, our Freedom to choose, our Freedom to speak, our Freedom to do just about anything that is in accordance with the laws governing this country.
Now off my "soap box" if you will.
Enjoy the parties and festivities that come about for an entire Nation once a year.
Happy Freedom Day!

Shiry's birthday is fast approaching. Um, tomorrow to be exact. It seems it has been only a couple months since she was born, yet with the traumatic experience that it was, I am so glad it is in the past. Though it was a year ago, I find that the emotions are still strong. I wrote in my journal and was surprised to find that I had a lot to say about it. I ended up writing a long 3 pages and sobbing the entire time it took to write it. Preston was trying to get to sleep and was probably befuddled as to my instantaneous tears that lasted for longer than usual. I ended up coming out to the couch to finish writing so he could sleep since he worked in the morning.
What a miracle that Shiryauna not only survived, but came out of it a happy and healthy baby.
Now, let's see if I can survive her toddler-hood.
